Marrow Plus (Health Concerns) Each bottle, 270 tablets. Each tablet 750 mg of milletia, ho-shou-wu, salvia, Codonopsis, Astragalus, Ligusticum, raw and cooked Rehmannia, Lycium, tang-kuei (Angelica), lotus seed, citrus, red date extract, oryza and gelatinum. A formula designed specifically to offset the bone marrow suppressive effects of drugs like AZT and DHPG (ganciclovir, an antiviral used to treat CMV). May also help to reverse anemia, a low hemoglobin level being of serious concern in HIV disease. This formula is also based on one derived by Misha Cohen. Suggested dose is 23 tablets taken 34 times per day, so that a total of 68 tablets are taken each day.

My acupuncturist started me taking Marrow Plus up to two weeks before I began a six month regime of Pegasys/Ribavirin combination therapy for Hep C.
The dose is extreme to keep your body ramped up for the onslaught of the meds...20 tablets per day! I break them into smaller sizes 3 times during the day, like 7, 7, and 6...any combo would work. you just have to be diligent with taking that many extra tabs on top of everything else you have to swallow.

I am nearing the end of my six months with only two more shots to go, and the Marrow Plus has held my blood counts at a steady pace, high enough to prevent me from going on the anemia drugs like procrit. My acupuncturist who specializes in hep c and liver disorders admits that only one of her patients who has taken Marrow Plus ended up on Procrit.
